Harold Alfred Pepperworth (1922–1997)

Born March 15, 1922 in Fairfield, IL to Harris and Eliza Jane (Roy) Pepperworth

Harold served in the US Navy from 1940 to 1948 stationed aboard the USS Honolulu (CL-48) light cruiser and survived the Pearl Harbor attack. After moving to Whatcom County, he worked at the Bellingham Shipyard, Pacific Fruit, became owner of Bellingham Produce, and established deep roots in the Teamsters Union.

Patriarch Harold Alfred Pepperworth (1922–1997)

WWII Navy Veteran • Pearl Harbor Survivor • Teamsters Pioneer

Harold served in the US Navy from 1940 to 1948, stationed aboard the USS Honolulu (CL-48) light cruiser and survived the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941. After returning to Whatcom County, he worked at the Bellingham Shipyard, Pacific Fruit, became owner of Bellingham Produce, and established deep roots in the Teamsters Union. In 1979, he established A-1 Pepperworth Plumbing, choosing the "A-1" directory prefix to secure the #1 position in local Yellow Pages directories.
